A celebration of life on the Day of the Dead, La Última Parada brought music, dance, altars, food, art, and community gathering to the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose. In 2017, the festival expanded to two days, including an altar walk, performances, and a large public celebration centered on remembrance and Mexican cultural tradition.
The projection design transformed the plaza into an illuminated environment for ceremony and celebration. Drawing from the visual language of Día de los Muertos, the media extended the imagery of altars, masks, memory, and procession across the architecture of the event, supporting both intimate remembrance and large-scale communal spectacle.
